"Grisha" is a bilingual feature film about a young peasant who encounters forbidden love against the wishes of his Deaf parents. Based on a short story by Leo Tolstoy and directed by Ben Stamper. This film explores love and language through period-specific sign language, classic literature, and lush soundscape; a cinematic yearning for every human to be heard, seen and understood.
